Oscar Braun Elected President and CEO of U.S.-Mexico Business Council
December 1, 2008 – Washington, D.C. – The Board of Directors of the U.S.-Mexico Business Council (USMBC) today announced that Oscar Braun has been elected to the position of President and CEO.
The U.S.-Mexico Business Council is the premier business advocacy organization dedicated to facilitate and to promote investment and trade between United States and Mexico. The Council monitors and advocates policies of critical importance to U.S.-Mexico economic relationship, provides information updates on the business climate in both countries, and develops strategic relationships between businesses in both countries.
Mr. Braun is Managing Director at Braun Global Investors, a private investment firm and a strategic advisor to corporations and governments. Previously, he advised the Inter-American Development Bank and the Inter-American Investment Corporation. Mr. Braun is also a co-founder of Carbon Finance International a global leader in carbon asset management, investment and advisory services.
Braun said of his appointment, “The USMBC is committed to expanding bi-lateral commercial opportunities between the two countries. With the economic downturn, it's time for the United States and Mexico to think more strategically about their relationship with each other.”
Mr. Braun's appointment is efective immediately.
